I inherited an engraved Colt Model 1911 from my father. The gun was made in 1924. I'm trying to identify the engraver. I've ordered a factory letter from Colt to determine if it was done at the factory but it hasn't arrived yet. The initials "EJS" are on the right side of the receiver toward the back and just below the slide. I don't know if those are the initials of the engraver or the gun owner. Additionally the E is spaced apart slightly from the JS which could indicate it stands for Engraved by JS.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
